Trump keeps Iran nuclear deal for now

The United States is extending the sanctions waiver as part of the Iran nuclear deal, but the White House says this will be the last time.

This is consistent with Trump's new pattern of forcing Congress to do its job. No more three-day weeks, briefly interposed between fund-raising and grandstanding. No more bailing out Congress with illegal executives orders, the Obama specialty.

Congress must legislate, especially to get what they want. Democrats want rights for Dreamers? They must give Trump funding for his wall, an end to chain migration, and an end to the S***hole lottery.  Democrats want to preserve the Iran deal? They must fix it.  Democrats want to fund the government? They must support more, badly-needed defense spending.

This is good Presidential strategy. It puts Congress--both parties--on its heels and reduces the amount of time they can spend campaigning for the 2018 mid-terms. It gives Trump a solid record of accomplishment, and Dems nothing to run on but obstruction and their opinions about Trump's behavior.
